Code of Conduct

The North Dandenong Sharks Junior Football Club (NDJFC) and South East Juniors (SEJ) take the Code of Conduct of all it's members and volunteers very seriously.

For Players

This Code of Conduct applies to ALL Players affiliated with the North Dandenong Sharks Junior Football Club.

Players are expected to:
  • Remember that they are part of a team and are to co-operate with your Coach and fellow team mates.
  • Play by the Rules.
  • Never argue with any officials (e.g. The Umpires)
  • Not verbally abuse, bully or sledge any officials.  This will not be tolerated.
  • Not verbally abuse, bully or sledge any players.  This will not be tolerated.
  • Be a good sport.  This means applaud all good plays, whether they are by your team or your opponents.
  • Not Swear.  Swearing in any form is not acceptable.
  • Treat all Players as you would expect to be treated.
  • Treat all Officials as you would expect to be treated.
  • Treat all Coaches, Club Members and Volunteers as you would expect to be treated.
  • Never make fun of or yell at a player for making a mistake.
  • Condemn any use of violence.
  • Play for the Fun of the Game.  Not just to please someone else.
  • Remember this is Junior Footy and is Fun!!! Get out there make Friends and learn some new skills!!


Reportable Incidents

  • Any player reported and found guilty by the SEJ tribunal may have further sanctions handed out by the North Dandenong Sharks.

Social Media and Websites

  • It is expected that members of North Dandenong Sharks conduct themselves appropriately when using all forms of social media if they choose to post, blog, update statuses and tweet as they become accessible for public comment.  All postings (written, photos or videos) must be family friendly and feature positive club news and events.  
  • Abusive, discriminatory, intimidating or offensive statements or posts will not be tolerated.
  • No personal information about members should be disclosed on any form of social media.
  • No statements will be made that are misleading, false, or bring into jeopardy a person or clubs reputation.  No statements will be made that may bring the club into disrepute. 
  • It is at the discretion of the Management Committee to remove and report any posts, blogs, update statuses, videos and tweets that may be misleading, false or bring into jeopardy a person or the clubs reputation.  
  • It is at the discretion of the Management Committee to remove any person from all forms of social media that may post, blog, vlog, update statuses and tweet that may be misleading, false or bring into jeopardy a person or the clubs reputations.
  • Any person found in breach of these rules, the club will have the matter referred to the POLICE where criminal offences may proceed for cyber bullying or defamation.

Uniforms, Club Equipment and Facilities

  • Each player will wear a registered club coloured playing jumper.  At the end of each game these are to be returned to your team manager.  These jumpers remain the property of NDJFC.
  • Club shorts are to be purchased.  Red for home games.  White for away games.
  • Club socks must be purchased and worn for each game.
  • Mouthguards must be worn to play in games.  No mouthguard, no play. (Safety first).
  • If you wear skins under your shorts they must be beige and not below the knee.
  • Black long or short sleeve tops (such as the sharks training top) may be worn under club jumpers.  These must have no logos or patterns visible.
  • Metal tipped stops are not permitted on footwear.
  • Use club facilities as they were meant to be used.  If you break it, you may have to pay for it.

Complaints and Protests

  • A registered player, in accordance with the rules, may make a complaint concerning any act or matter involving members, players or officials but must do so in writing, and received by the club secretary within 48 hours of the incident occurring. 
  • Within the written complaint must be a detailed description of the incident and must contain any other relevant documentation. The complaint must also be signed by the person submitting the complaint, dated and be witnessed by a third party who can be utilised as a witness.

  • The matter will be dealt with by either the Match Committee or Executive Committee depending on the nature of the incident.

Annual General Meetings

  • The Management Committee for the North Dandenong Sharks require that when the AGM is held, at least one representative per family attends.

Registration and Fees

  • All players must be registered with Sporting Pulse. 
  • All players must supply proof of age. 
  • These are SEJ requirements. 
  • Any questions please contact the Registrar.
  • Fees must be paid in full by the end of round 4. Or a signed payment plan must be in action.

Acknowledgement and Understanding

  • By registering as a player with the North Dandenong Sharks I agree to abide by the club’s principles and Code of Conduct.
  • By registering as a player, I agree to signing and confirming my understanding of the Code of Conduct.
  • By signing this Code, I also understand that any visitors I bring to the club must also abide by this Code of Conduct.
  • I also understand that by not signing this form may mean that I am not allowed to play or attend club functions until completed.



For Parents/Guardians & Volunteers

This Code of Conduct applies to ALL Parents/Guardians, Volunteers and players affiliated with the North Dandenong Sharks Junior Football Club.

All Committee and Volunteers are expected to:
  • Have obtained a Victorian Working With Children Check (WWCC) card for volunteers.
  • Have lodged an application for a Vic WWCC Card.
  • Update your WWCC profile on line to include North Dandenong Sharks.
  • Be a sworn Police Officer who is not suspended from Duty and/or a teacher with a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Provide your Employee WWCC card if that is what you have.
  • Must Register online as a volunteer/official etc., through our Register Now link on the northdandysharks.com.au website.
  • Anyone applying, being nominated or volunteering for such positions will have to provide evidence of these requirements.
  • Positions such as Coach and Trainer/First Aid must also supply the relevant documentations.

Parents/Guardians & Spectators

You are expected to:
  • Encourage ALL children to participate.
  • Ensure ALL  players adhere to the Code of Conduct outlined above under 'Players'. 
  • Encourage all players on both sides to follow the rules and follow the Umpires decisions.
  • Never ridicule or yell at a player for making a mistake or their team losing a game.
  • Remember that All children learn best from example; applaud all good plays by both teams, do not sledge or bully any officials and do not intimidate anyone verbally or physically.
  • Recognise the value of all volunteers from all clubs.
  • Become a volunteer.
  • Remember that children play organised sport for FUN. They are not playing for the amusement of spectators, nor are they mini professionals. This is Junior Footy, not the AFL.
  • Condemn violence in any form – North Dandenong Sharks Management Committee has a ZERO Tolerance policy.
  • Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not using foul language or harassing players, coaches, umpires or fellow supporters.
  • Refrain from any bullying, racial or anti-social behaviour whilst at the club or representing the club at functions. This behavior will NOT be tolerated.

  • By registering our/my child as a player and signing this document I agree to support and abide by this Code of Conduct.
  • By signing this Code, I also understand that any visitors I/we bring to the club must abide by this Code of Conduct.
  • I/we also understand that by not signing this form it may mean that our/my child may not be allowed to play or attend club functions until completed.
  • By parents/guardians, players and volunteers signing this document it means everyone agrees to support the Club of North Dandenong Sharks Junior Football and its Management Committee in its undertakings and encourage the Club to take any necessary disciplinary actions, including, but not limited to the suspension and banning of any players, parents, volunteers or committee members found in breach of this code of conduct.
  • We/I also agree that by failing to sign this form may mean my child (or I/we) is ineligible to play and I/we cannot attend any club functions until completed.
